The City of St. John's operates two indoor pools, two outdoor pools and three splash pads. The outdoor pools are open during July and August. When possible, splash pads may open earlier and stay open until Labour Day.
We strive to create accessible and inclusive programs and services where all individuals may participate. All of our pools are equipped with an accessible chair lift for entering the water and accessible change rooms.
All swim schedules can be found in our recreation calendar and you can learn more about programs and recreational swimming fees on our Swimming webpage.
Our indoor pools are located in the east and west end of the City at the H.G.R Mews Community Centre and Paul Reynolds Community Centre:
Open July 2 to August 25, 2024
Our outdoor pools are conveniently located in two of our largest municipal parks - Bowring Park and Bannerman Park. These pools have scheduled swim times throughout the day and early evening.
Patrons may bring their own lifejackets, kickboards, flippers, hand-paddles and pull-buoys. Personal floats and inflatables are not permitted.
All pools have life guards on duty. For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, please follow the posted pool rules all times.
Swims may be available for day camps during the summer at both our indoor and outdoor pools. For information on booking a swim, please email recreation@stjohns.ca.
Pool space is available for private rentals at all of our swimming pools. Private rentals are a great way to enjoy a family gathering or a corporate fun day.
Please complete the Aquatics Rental Application.
Please note: birthday party rentals do not require an Aquatics Rental Application. For further information or to book a birthday party, call 709-576-8499, 709-576-8631 or email recreation@stjohns.ca.
Birthday party invitations are available for your use. Please note: you can click the drop down option to choose the pool you have booked.
Our splash pads are open 9 a.m. to dusk during the summer at Bowring Park, Bannerman Park and Kenmount Terrace Community Centre.
Did you know?... We practice water conservation at our splash pads by using retreated, recirculated water. To ensure wise water use and that we aren’t unnecessarily treating water that no one has been playing in, the water features at our splash pads are set on a four-minute timer. This means they run for four minutes and then the water shuts off until you push the button to reactivate it.
