Adults in Motion |
This low impact class combines cardio and strength training for the older adult who is looking to meet new friends and others with common wellness goals. |
Aquatic Fitness |
Aquatic fitness classes are held in the deep and shallow end simultaneously. These low to no impact classes involve high intensity movements that are designed to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and muscle tone. Participants in the deep-water section can use a floatation belt. |
Body Conditioning |
A total conditioning class designed to challenge each participant's major muscles groups using a combination of equipment and effective body weight exercises. Participants at all fitness levels are welcome. Please note that pre-registration is required if you plan to attend Body Conditioning class at the Southlands Community Centre. All other centres are drop-in for this program. |
Core Balance |
Strengthen the core and lower back using a combination of equipment and body weight exercises. A well-rounded workout for all levels. |

Beginner Yoga |
Designed for new students of all fitness levels to learn a solid foundation of yoga practice. All equipment used during this class must be provided by the participant. Please bring a yoga mat. |
Intermediate Yoga |
This class teaches you how to improve upon the postures learned in beginner yoga and learn additional challenging postures. Beginner yoga experience is required. All equipment used during this class must be provided by the participant. Please bring a yoga mat. |
Mixed Level Yoga |
Beginners and intermediates together practice yoga fundamentals to increase strength, flexibility and endurance. All equipment used during this class must be provided by the participant. Please bring a yoga mat. |
Relaxation Yoga |
Relaxation Yoga is beginner friendly and incorporates mindfulness throughout the class. Poses are done slowly to illicit the relaxation response and increase body-mind awareness. All equipment used during this class must be provided by the participant. Please bring a yoga mat. |
Yin Yoga |
A quiet yoga practice that improves flexibility and circulation. Yin yoga is suitable for all levels and does not require previous yoga experience. This class involves holding poses for longer periods of time. Equipment is strongly recommended and must be provided by the participant. Please bring a yoga mat, yoga block, yoga strap and blanket. |
Active for Life |
This fall prevention fitness class will help older adults improve balance and flexibility to decrease the risk of falls. |
Ever Active |
A low impact fitness class that allow participants to work at their own pace to improve muscle conditioning, flexibility and endurance while standing or using a chair as support. |
