Parks, playgrounds and trails provide opportunities for our residents and visitors to relax and enjoy nature in our city.
The Parks and Open Spaces Master Plan outlines our strategy. This document is a resident-based vision for the parks and open space network within the City of St. John's. It defines the future direction, policies and priorities for passive and programmed open space use in our city.
To host a special event in a City park, individuals must apply for a special events permit.
Parks & Playgrounds
The City has four municipal parks, dozens of community & neighbourhood parks and over 130 playgrounds.
Dog Parks
The City boasts 9 dog parks situated strategically across the entire municipality for public convenience.
Skate Parks
Whether using bicycles, scooters or skateboards, we encourage you to visit our skate parks.
Trails
City staff and the Grand Concourse Authority maintain trails within the city. They ensure that these recreational paths are well-kept.
Inclusion & Accessibility
The City has several playgrounds and parks with accessible and inclusive features for all residents.
