Business Information Centre

Whether you are starting, expanding or operating a business, there are always questions. Our Business Information Centre can point you in the right direction. Knowledgeable staff can guide you to the resources you need to prepare a business plan, conduct market research, or find sources of financing for your business.

Many businesses require licenses and approvals from other levels of government or from regulatory associations. In Newfoundland and Labrador, Service NL processes permits, licenses, approvals and conducts inspections on behalf of a number of provincial government departments. Some of the more common approvals you may need are: building accessibility, elevator inspections and food establishment licensing. The Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation issues liquor licenses.
