The City of St. John's had a watermain break of a 20-inch pipe in the area of Carrick Drive, Regent Street and Outer Ring Road this morning.
City Crews worked quickly to address the break, and are actively working on repairs. It is estimated that work may be finished by midnight tonight, Thursday, June 6. Properties in the east end may have experienced some water loss or discoloration earlier this morning. If residents do experience discoloured water, run the cold water tap in a sink until it clears. If discoloured water persists, contact Access St. John's by calling 311 or 754-CITY (2489).
Unfortunately, we are aware of some flooding to residential areas occurring this morning related to the watermain break. Those who have experienced flooding are encouraged to contact their home insurance to respond to any damages.
