There is space in our winter recreation programs: Learn to Knit, Preschool, Acrylic Painting, Home Alone Course and Come Craft with Us.
Learn to knit projects from start to finish. Projects include dishcloth, scarf/cowl and even a hat. Practice material provided. Come bring your creative mind!
Southlands Community Centre: Wednesdays, January 8 to February 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A part time preschool program that focuses on socialization, early educational concepts, physical literacy with a focus on fundamentals, basic movement and skills taught through fun activities. Staff will build on children's interests and abilities and offer age- appropriate activities and learning centres.

Get creative, have fun, and socialize at our paint night. Create a painting on canvas using acrylic paint led by an instructor. No experience required; materials provided.
Shea Heights Community Centre: Sunday, February 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A safety and life skills program for children (Grade 4 to 6) to develop independence to be un-supervised for short periods of time. Topics include online safety, fire safety, street smarts, emergency response, healthy eating, and a home readiness plan. Bring a lunch. The City of St. John's cannot guarantee that children taking this course will be adequately prepared or responsible to remain at home without adult supervision. This program is offered during the NL Schools winter break.
Shea Heights Community Centre: Monday, February 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Come have fun learning basic crafting skills. Use a variety of different craft mediums, and go home with four beautiful pieces. You do not have to be crafty to join!
