Monkstown Road, Riverview Place, Hennebury Place
7:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1 to 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 2
Residents are advised that BioMaxx Environmental & Eric Taylor Limited, on behalf of the City of St. John's will be completing sewer cleaning and inspection at the above noted streets.
Sewer cleaning operations will not affect the use of your sewer pipe. However, while it is rare, the cleaning may cause air to travel up your sewer lateral towards your house. If your home does not have a properly installed vent pipe, malfunctioning back water valve or no back water valve then there is a risk of the water in your toilet bowl or traps burping and splashing inside.
As a safety precaution you should close the lid on all toilets when not in use and cover basement toilets with a garbage bag and duct tape until cleaning is completed. In addition, we recommend you insert a drain plug in all sinks and bathtubs, place a rubber mat/plastic and tape over all floor drains and place a weighted object on each area sealed.
Motorists may experience minor traffic delays; however, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be maintained. Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site, as necessary.
The City of St. John's apologizes for any inconvenience. For more details or to report an issue, contact Access St. John's by call 311 or (709) 754-CITY (2489), via the app 311 St. John's, or by email access@stjohns.ca
