Residential Re-Leaf Tree Planting: Vouchers Available

The City has opened the Residential Re-Leaf program, where St. John's residents can apply for a $200 tree voucher towards the purchase of a tree to plant on their property. There are 120 vouchers available.

Applications can be submitted directly by filling out an online form. An alternate format is available to submit via email at pwadmin@stjohns.ca or in person at Access St. John’s on the first floor of City Hall during business hours 8 a.m. to 4 pm. Mon. to Fri. Forms are also available in person Access St. John’s.

Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. June 6, 2023. Eligible applications will be entered into a draw. Successful applicants will receive their voucher by mail in late June.

The Residential Re-Leaf program aims to expand St. John’s urban forest by encouraging property owners to plant trees on their property. This initiative continues to help the City achieve its goal of increasing the number and density of trees in the city.

Previous programs in 2016, 2019, 2021 and 2022 saw hundreds of trees planted on homeowner properties throughout the city. More details can be found here.
