The City of St. John's is advising residents, businesses and partners of potential impacts and contingency plans due to the postal disruption at Canada Post.
Due to the mail disruption, water meter reading cards for October to December 2024 billing will not be mailed out to commercial water meter users.
Commercial water meter users can submit readings to waterclerk@stjohns.ca or by fax at 709-576-8162 with the following details:
The readings must be received no later than December 13, 2024
If water meter reading cards are not submitted, billing will be based on estimated water usage.
For planning and development applications that provide an opportunity for public feedback, the City of St. John's would normally notify property owners within 150 metres of the application site via mail. During the Canada Post strike, notices will not be mailed out.
Notices will continue to be posted on the City's website, sent to email subscribers, posted to social media and shared through the Telegram's online edition.
Residents are encouraged to subscribe to receive information from the City of St. John's directly to your inbox.
If vendors are not already receiving payments electronically, please contact accountspayable@stjohns.ca for instructions on how to enroll in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
Due to the Canada Post strike, delivery of the Winter 2025 City Guide to residents’ mailboxes will be delayed. Physical copies will be available at the Access Centre at City Hall, the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre and the Paul Reynolds Community Centre. The City of St. John’s anticipates they will arrive the week of November 25 and will provide an update once they are available at these locations.
The City Guide is also available online and can be viewed at StJohns.ca/CityGuide
