The deadline to apply for a vacancy that exists on the Building Safer Communities Steering Committee has been extended to Sunday, September 1, 2024.
The Office of the City Clerk is seeking a member to fill one (1) vacancy on the Building Safer Communities Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee aims to include a wide range of diverse perspectives and expertise, as outlined on page 4 of the Terms of Reference. Individuals who bring one or more of these perspectives are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to an individual representing Indigenous organizations, or an Indigenous individual, who provides support to and/or advocacy for the urban Indigenous community.
The Steering Committee is solutions-oriented and provides information and recommendations to the City of St. John’s on the best ways of addressing the root causes of violence and crime. Committee areas of focus include:
Steering Committee member roles, responsibilities, and length of term are set according to the Committee’s Terms of Reference.
