Storm Cleanup Update - February 10, 2025

Storm Update: The snow mostly stopped by 11 a.m. Reported accumulations are approximately 40 cm, with amounts varying based on elevation and areas affected by drifting. Blowing snow will continue to impact many areas throughout the day, causing drifting and possible low visibility. 

By 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, streets will be cleared within the City. Most sidewalks will require large snow blowers and/or complete snow removals, which means it will take longer than five days to address all areas. Crews will continue to focus on priority areas. Crews are working as fast as possible, however it is important to remember that there are over 1,400 lane kms of road that require clearing during a snow event and 175 kms of sidewalk, which does take time.  

Snow removal and widening are required in many areas, which will commence in the coming days as weather permits. We are closely monitoring the situation and assure you we will address the needs on a priority bases. There is no need to call and request street widening or snow removal.

Please be advised that the weather-related parking ban will remain in effect until 7:30 a.m. on February 11. We also would like to remind all residents and contractors to not place snow from driveways or parking lots back into the street or on sidewalks. This creates major challenges and slows down snow clearing operations significantly.
