A Public Meeting will take place regarding a rezoning application for land at 40 Quidi Vidi Road.
The City has received an application from First Light St. John’s Native Friendship Centre Inc. to rezone land at 40 Quidi Vidi Road from the Residential 3 (R3) Zone to the Residential Mixed (RM) Zone to develop First Light headquarters. This will include an Office, Clinic and Place of Assembly. Office and Clinic are Permitted Uses in the RM Zone, and Place of Assembly is a Discretionary Use. A Municipal Plan amendment is not required.
The City is also considering amending Section 7.6.3 of the St. John’s Development Regulations to allow buffering and screening in the RM Zone to be at the discretion of Council.
Along with these amendments, the City is advertising the Discretionary Use of a Place of Assembly at this location. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily and the floor area will be 934 square metres. Off-street parking will be provided. The applicant has requested parking relief of 54 parking spaces.
As well, the City is offering the option to attend online using Zoom.
