Due to forecasted weather, please note the following impacts on City of St. John's services and facilities for Monday, February 10:
Please be advised that City facilities, including City Hall and recreation facilities, will be closed tomorrow morning (Monday, February 10). An update will be provided at 11:30 a.m. The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will remain open, however public drop off will be closed as per its regular hours of operation.
The Weather-Related Parking Ban outside the Designated Downtown Area and Business District will be enforced starting 7:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10, 2025.
On-street parking is prohibited 24-hours a day until the ban is lifted. Vehicles parked on the road during this time may be ticketed or towed.
An update will be issued to confirm when the parking ban will be lifted. Subscribe to receive updates to your email at StJohns.ca/Subscribe.
This parking ban is required for effective snow clearing and/or snow removal. Equipment operators can clear snow from roadways more effectively and efficiently when they do not need to maneuver around parked cars. This also reduces the need to return to clear areas where vehicles were parked.
Waste collection regularly scheduled for Monday, February 10 will take place on Tuesday, February 11. Please note that collection time may differ from usual.
The City has introduced a new Weather Hub to centralize all weather-related information in one place. We encourage residents to visit this webpage for information about:
The Weather Hub will be updated regularly before, during, and after adverse weather. Learn more at StJohns.ca/WeatherHub.
The City also issues advisories during adverse weather through the news section of our website and on social media. You can subscribe to receive these updates directly to your email.
Access St. John’s is available to residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week by email at access@stjohns.ca, by phone at 311 or 754-CITY (2849) or by the 311 St. John’s app.
Reports of hazards should be reported immediately. We ask that residents wait until after the service delivery timelines to submit general inquiries regarding snow clearing to allow staff to focus on cleanup efforts. Often times, issues are resolved within that timeline.
