Call for Members - Environment and Sustainability Experts Panel

The Office of the City Clerk is accepting applications for two volunteers for Environmental and Sustainability Experts Panel membership. This Panel provides City Council with expertise, opinion, and perspective about environmental and sustainability matters, including the City of St. John’s energy intensity, greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation, resilience, energy poverty, and environment. Additionally, the Panel is responsible for assisting in the progress of environmental and sustainability matters in the City of St. John’s. Two representatives with expertise in the following areas are required:

• Climate Science & Resilience - to support the City in adaptation efforts and fostering its overall resilience.
• Natural Environment & Resources – To support the City in efforts related to managing risks, water resource, and conserving ecosystems and natural resources now and into the future.

Sought after expertise in these areas may include, but will not be limited to:

• · Engineers (e.g., civil, water resources)  
• · Climatologists
• · Physical Scientists
• · Planners, MCIP
• · Architects
• · Other – Demonstrated Relevant Experience
• · Climatologists

Experts Panel member roles, responsibilities, and length of term are set according to the Panel’s Terms of Reference, which can be found on the City’s website.
