A new multi-year construction project is set to begin on November 6, 2023, on Kelly’s Brook Trail. The first phase of construction will begin in the vicinity of Kelly’s Brook Park between Newtown Road and Guy Street this fall. Work will carry over into the 2024 season extending along Kelly’s Brook Trail between Carpasian Road and Guy Street. Contractors may be working on the following streets from October 30 to November 4 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. The City of St. John's will be conducting roadside pruning operations beginning November 1 and continuing into the Spring of 2024 in the following areas:
Pruning operations will be performed following arboricultural best practices. The purpose is to prune branches that create sightline issues or interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Motorists may experience traffic delays when work is being completed.

A detour will be in place on Duckworth Street starting Thursday, October 26, between Kings Road to Holloway Street to facilitate construction related to the Provincial Government’s National War Memorial refurbishment project.
