City of St. John’s Releases 2023 Economic Review

The City of St. John’s has released the 2023 Economic Review, its annual report on economic indicators for the St. John’s Census Metropolitan Area (CMA).
“Our economy showed signs of improvement in many indicators last year,” said Mayor Danny Breen, Council Lead for Economic Development. “The population grew, retail sales increased, unemployment is down, household income is up and the St. John’s economy is expected to return to growth in 2024.”

Road Closure: Hebron Way February 20, 2024

Hebron Way, from the roundabout at Major’s Path to the Service Canada Building at 100 Hebron Way, is closed due to heavy drifting and poor visibility. An update will be provided once it has been reopened.

Motorists are advised that the section of Hebron Way, from Sea Rose Ave to Major’s Path, has been reopened to the public as of 4:30 pm today Feb. 19, 2024.

City Seeking Performers for 2024 Special Events

The City of St. John’s is seeking performers for 2024 special events. Our annual Call for Performers helps the City program arts and cultural performances for special events like the Music @ concert series, Downtown Pedestrian Mall performances, Dockside Welcomes and other City of St. John’s-hosted events and festivals.
We invite solo and group applications in all the performing arts disciplines. The deadline to apply is the final Friday in March. Please complete the online application form.
