Mews Centre Pool to Remain Closed: Work Continues to Address Infrastructure Issues

The pool at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre will remain closed. Following a repair to piping that was causing leaks, further leaks have been discovered that will need to be repaired before the pool can reopen.
The Mews pool has served the public well for many years, but the aging infrastructure needs replacement. Construction on a new facility is underway, but in the interim the facility is needed to service the community.

The type of street you live on will determine where to place your garbage carts or bags, recycling blue bags and paper yard waste bags (seasonally).
Waste bags and carts must not be placed on any part of the sidewalk as it obstructs people walking and wheeling on the sidewalk.
In winter, improperly placed bags and carts may also obstruct snow clearing equipment. Do not place bags or carts behind or on top of a snowbank.

Washrooms at Bannerman Park Closing After Hours

The public washrooms at Bannerman Park will no longer be open during the evenings due to vandalism, including incidents of arson.
Effective immediately, the hours of operation for these washrooms are:
- 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Thursday
- 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday to Monday
The City apologizes for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, this action is necessary to protect the safety of park property and patrons.

Road Closure: Mundy Pond Road

Mundy Pond Road from Murphy's Lane to Ropewalk Lane will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to facilitate roadwork.
Traffic will not be permitted through the construction zone; however, local traffic is permitted from Murphy's Lane side of closure (West). The Mews Centre remains open.
The City of St. John's apologizes for any inconvenience.
