Street Closed - Springdale Street (between Water Street and George Street West)

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed from June 5 to June 9 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel.  A traffic detour will be in place.

Cruise Ship Silver Shadow Arrives June 6, 2023

The Silver Shadow with 388 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 8 a.m. on Tuesday June 6 and depart at 4 p.m.

Street Rehab - June 5 to 9

Contractors may be working on the following streets from June 5 to 9 under the City's annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.  Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

Immediate Closure Bay Bulls Road (Old Bay Bulls Road to Walsh's Lane)

Motorists are advised of the immediate closure of Bay Bulls Road at the construction zone from Civic 333 Bay Bulls Road to the Old Bay Bulls Road intersection starting June 1 at 1 p.m. ending June 9 at 5 p.m. No vehicular traffic will be permitted to pass through the closed section of Bay Bulls Road.

Appeal Board - 57 Barrows Road

The following appeal under the City of St. John’s Development Regulations will be heard by the Appeal Board on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12:30 p.m.

Decision of City re: Issuance of a Commercial Building permit for construction of a deck at 57 Barrows Road.

Mews Centre Pool and Sauna Closed Effective June 1, 2023

Due to an unexpected mechanical issue, the pool, steam and sauna at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre have been closed, effective immediately. An update on reopening is expected June 6, 2023.
