The City of St. John’s advises the public that, effective immediately, the pool at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre is closed. The closure is due to a plumbing malfunction. Facilities staff are working to remedy the situation as quickly as possible; the reopening date will be announced when it is known.

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed Jan 16 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Jan 17 to Feb 3 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.

The public have posed many questions to City Council and staff about the light in the Outer Battery, which has been an issue discussed on social media and covered by local media for several months.
