Due to unforeseen circumstances, not all yard waste was collected on Tuesday, July 4. Any yard waste not collected will be collected on Wednesday, July 5.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Party in the Park July 19

The City of St. John’s is hosting the annual Party in the Park on Wednesday, July 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the lawn by Bowring Park Bungalow. (Rain date: July 20)
Party in the Park is a free event for seniors which includes local entertainment along with light refreshments, giveaways and more.
This year’s entertainers are Clay Coombs and Harris Porter of I’se Da B’y; youth musician Brett Crane; Elaine Dunphy of Nia on the Rock; and Paddy Burke.

Please be advised that all City of St. John's outdoor sports fields are closed Tuesday, July 4 for the remainder of the day due to inclement weather and field conditions.
Street Closure - Springdale Street (between Water Street & George Street West)

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed from July 4 to 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.

Street Rehab - July 3 to7

Contractors may be working on the following streets from July 3 to 7 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

New Strategic Plan Initiatives for 2023

The City of St. John’s strategic plan, Our City Our Future, provides strategic direction for a ten-year period, 2019-2029. The Plan is continuously evolving, dependent on the economy, resources, public needs and engagement, assessments, and budget. As projects are completed, new initiatives are added annually.

DescriptionAn application has been submitted for a Dwelling Unit on the first storey, which is discretionary in the Commercial Downtown (CD) Zone. The current commercial unit measures 30.6m2 and is proposed to be converted into a residential Dwelling Unit.
