Motorists are advised that Gleneyre Street will be closed to through traffic near the Torbay Road intersection. A detour will be in place to access the neighbourhood via Highland Drive, Dunlea Street and Birchwynd Street to facilitate construction works associated with the Gleneyre Street culvert replacement project.

National Truth and Reconciliation Day

The City will observe National Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30 to honour survivors, their families and Indigenous communities, and to raise awareness about the legacy of residential schools in Canada. The City will also raise an orange flag on Friday, September 29 and City Hall will be lit orange over the weekend.

Motorists are advised that Columbus Drive at the intersection of Thorburn Road will have lane reductions to facilitate the installation of the shared-use-path along Columbus Drive from Thorburn Road to Wexford Street. William Street Parking Disruption

The City of St. John’s will be painting angled parking stalls on William Street on Thursday, September 28 and Friday, September 29, weather permitting. Parking will be affected on William Street during this time.

Visitor Information Centre Updated Hours

The City of St. John’s Visitor Information Centre located at 348 Water Street, will be adjusting their hours of operation.

The Visitor Information Centre will be open:

Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Closed on weekends and Statutory Holidays, except on days when cruise ships are in port at St. John’s Harbour.
