Description
The proposed application is for a Lounge within the existing Restaurant, which will have a floor area of approximately 43 m². Hours of operation will be Monday to Saturday, 11:30am to 8:00pm. Parking is provided on-site.

Canada Drive Active Transportation and Safety Improvements Update

City staff are bringing a recommendation for the design of Canada Drive to the Committee of the Whole (COTW) meeting this Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Previously, the City shared two concepts to improve active transportation and road safety on Canada Drive and collected feedback for the following options.

Roadside Pruning Operations Begin November 14

The City of St. John's will be conducting roadside pruning operations beginning November 14, 2022, continuing until March 31, 2023.
The purpose of this operation is to prune low hanging branches that interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic and create sightline issues. To ensure unobstructed and safe passage, branches must be pruned to a height of approximately 2.4 metres (8 feet) over the sidewalk and 4.2 metres (14 feet) over the road.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from November 14-18 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. WOOD Environment is doing some work on Thorburn Road and Portugal Cove Road this weekend on the Road Weather Information Systems;
- Thorburn Road site, in the area of 620 Thorburn Road, on Saturday, November 12from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Windsor Lake site, in the area of Portugal Cove Road near the Winsor Lake Facility, on Sunday, November 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Roads will be open and controlled by flag persons in the work zone. Inspectors will be on site.

Scheduled Blast at Robin Hood Bay November 13

The City of St. John’s advises the public that a scheduled blast will occur at Robin Hood Bay on Sunday, Nov. 13 at approximately 9 a.m.
The blast is happening on the east end of the landfill site in the quarry area. The purpose of the blast is for rock production as part of a recent contract awarded to Capital Ready-Mix.
Marshalls will be stationed along the East Coast Trail to inform hikers who may be in the area at the time.
The public are asked to avoid this area on Sunday morning.
