Road Construction - November 28 to December 2

Contractors may be working on the following streets from November 28 to December 2 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

Road Closures and Parking Restrictions - Downtown Christmas Parade

The 2022 Downtown Christmas Parade organized by Downtown St. John's is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Nov. 27 beginning at noon.
ShuttleAttendees are encouraged to take the FREE Metrobus Santa Shuttle, starting 10 a.m. on Sunday, November 27, with return shuttles operating immediately following the parade (masks are required):

Vehicle Auction Online December 4 and 5

In accordance with the provision of Section 166 (4) of the City of St. John’s Act, impounded motor vehicles held by the City of St John’s, will be sold via online auction hosted by Fitzpatrick’s Auction from 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 04, 2022 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 05, 2022.

This holiday season consider giving the gift of play to a child in need by donating to the REAL Program.
The REAL Program is a nonprofit program that provides recreation and leisure opportunities to children and youth in financial need by matching them with an organized recreational activity of their choice. It costs approximately $200 to provide a program or class space for one young person.

Downtown Holiday Fair

Residents and visitors are invited to come downtown for an exciting weekend of free holiday activities on Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. each day.
Saturday will feature pop up holiday performances and roaming mummers throughout Water Street and Duckworth Street to enhance the festive atmosphere of downtown St. John’s. Registration will open online via stjohns.ca/RECconnect or in-person at Paul Reynolds Community Centre or H.G.R. Mews Community Centre, for winter programs and swim lessons at:
