Cruise Ship National Geographic Explorer arrives September 7

The National Geographic Explorer with 112 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 6 a.m. on Thursday, September 7 and depart at 8 p.m.
Please note that ship arrivals and departures are subject to various conditions, including weather and ships’ schedules. For the most up-to-date information on cruise ships coming to the City of St. John’s call the Cruise Information Line.

Bidgood Park Trail Maintenance

Please be advised that further maintenance is needed to complete the closed section of Bidgood trail in Bidgood Park. These repairs are essential to ensure the safety and long-term integrity of the parks infrastructure. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the month. The City apologizes for any inconvenience.

Street Rehab - September 5 to 9

Contractors may be working on the following streets from September 5 to 9 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Labour Day Holiday

Due to the Labour Day holiday on Mon. Sept. 4 all City offices and facilities will be closed.
Please note:
- Garbage and recycling collection will not occur on Monday, it will be collected on Tues. Sept. 5 along with the regular Tuesday collection. Waste collection time may be later than usual as waste from two areas will be collected.
- Street cleaning operations will occur as scheduled on Mon. Sept 4, starting at 10 p.m. Vehicles not removed during the time indicated will be ticketed.

It’s hurricane season and the City of St. John’s is asking everyone to do their part to be prepared.
72 Hour Rule
In the event of an emergency, please be prepared to be on your own for 72 hours.
During major storms, the focus of City crews is to maintain access to streets so emergency vehicles (Fire/Police/Ambulance) and utility crews can respond to emergencies.
