The City of St. John’s is proud to announce the opening of the Galway Village Green Playground. The playground includes 6,500 square feet of accessible playground, a large multi-purpose court with basketball nets, a picnic area, trails and pathways and a dedicated parking area.

Please be advised that, effective immediately, the slipway located in Quidi Vidi Village is closed for repairs.
These repairs are essential to ensure the safety and long-term integrity of this infrastructure. Work will begin as soon as possible and a further update will be provided on the timeline for repairs.
The City apologizes for the inconvenience this temporary closure may cause, however this work is necessary to ensure the safety of those who use the slipway.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from September 18 to 23 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. The City of St. John’s has scheduled updates for certain accessible parking spaces in the upcoming weeks. This may require the temporary removal of the existing blue road markings, which will be reinstated at a later date. The existing "accessible parking" signs will remain in place, and parking enforcement will continue at these locations. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

The City of St. John’s requires all Aquatic Fitness Instructors to have a certification from a recognized organization or successful completion in the City’s own workshop. Participants learn the basics of music, movement and safety to then apply to become an Aquatic Fitness Instructor.
