In early August, construction crews will begin work to upgrade storm sewer infrastructure on University Avenue. Upgrades are expected to be completed by October 2024.
The impacted area extends from approximately 118 University Avenue to the north side of Prince Philip Drive. The City of St. John’s is pleased to announce the installation of new portable toilets for visitors of the Downtown Pedestrian Mall. Two portable accessible toilets and a handwashing station will be available during the Downtown Pedestrian Malls hours of operation (noon to 10 p.m. daily.) on the corner of Harbour Drive and Ayres Cove. In alignment with the City’s Paid Parking Management Strategy (PPMS), the current two hour timed parking area on LeMarchant Road (between Pleasant Street and Albro Lane) will be transitioned to a paid parking area.
