The St. John’s Regional Fire Department wishes to advise all citizens that due to the provincial fire ban being lifted for the island, the fire ban has been lifted within the Region which includes the City of St. John’s, City of Mount Pearl, and Town of Paradise.

Due to emergency watermain repairs, Dublin Road from Belfast Street to London Road is closed effective immediately. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and local traffic. All other traffic will be detoured and should expect delays.
The City will provide an update once the road has reopened. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from July 22 to 27 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:
Albany Street
Allandale Road
Brier Avenue
Calver Avenue
Canada Drive
Columbus Drive (near Thorburn Road intersection)

Unfortunately, due to forecasted wet weather, the Music @ Harbourside Park concert scheduled for Friday, July 19 has been cancelled. You can still catch SoHo :: Joe Sorbara, François Houle & Friends performing at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at the First Light Centre for Performance and Creativity, 81 Cochrane St., as part of Sound Symposium XXI.

Motorists are advised that Linegar Avenue (between the Harry Yetman Shea Heights Park and Horlick Avenue) will be closed to facilitate the Shea Heights Folk Festival. Traffic will be diverted to Horlick Avenue. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access.
