Due to the forecasted weather, City facilities will be closing at noon today, Jan. 5. This includes City Hall and all recreation facilities. Garbage collection and the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will remain open and in operation.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

City crews are preparing for the winter storm forecasted to start today (January 5, 2024), continuing until Saturday morning, which could bring significant snowfall.
Consider postponing non-essential travel during stormy conditions with low visibility. If you are driving, please allow extra time for the commute, slow down, and prepare for winter driving conditions.

The Winter Activity Centre in the North Bank Lodge at Pippy Park is scheduled to open this Saturday, January 6, 2024. For up-to-date schedules and hours of operation call the snow line at 709-737-3651.
During the winter, the Pippy Park campground is transformed into an area suitable for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Trails are lit for evening use and there is no cost to use the trails.
Rental hours of operationTuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The City of St. John’s will begin forwarding the January to June 2024 Residential Tax Bills to Canada Post on Tuesday, January 9. Residents should receive their bill within the coming weeks.
