Paid Parking to be Implemented on Rickett's Road North

Please be advised that sidewalks have now been installed on Rickett’s Road North and in the coming weeks parking spaces will be transitioned to a paid parking area. Paid parking stations will be installed today, however paid parking will not be enforced until paving is completed in the area. This expansion aligns with the City’s Paid Parking Strategy, which promotes a sustainable and effective on-street parking program that encourages turnover and improved parking availability.

Application - 21-23 Queen's Road

A Discretionary Use application has been submitted for 21-23 Queen’s Road.

The proposed application is for Heritage Use to allow a Dwelling Unit on the main floor. The Dwelling Unit will have an approximate area of 65m2 and would make a total of 6 Dwelling Units in the Building. The building is a designated Heritage Building and has approval as a Heritage Use (tasting room for screech-in ceremonies, retail, and museum display) and Office Use. Online Vehicle Auction: May 25-27

In accordance with the provision of Section 166 (4) of the City of St. John’s Act, impounded motor vehicles held by the City of St John’s, will be sold via online auction hosted by Fitzpatrick’s Auction from 12 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 to 1 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2024.

Victoria Day Holiday (May 20)

Please be advised that City offices will be closed for the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 20. Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection scheduled for Monday will be collected on Tuesday, May 21.

Please note:

• Public washrooms will remain open at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park and Quidi Vidi Lake.
• Street cleaning operations will take place as scheduled on Monday, May 20. Vehicles that are not removed during street cleaning will be ticketed.
