The City of St. John’s announced two new Housing Accelerator Fund incentives today: grants for homeowners for additional housing units and an incentive program for developers who are building multi-unit purpose built rentals.

The Norwegian Star with 3000 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 7 a.m. on Monday, August 12, and depart at 5 p.m.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from August 12 to 17 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

Motorists are advised there will be various lane reductions in place at the intersection of University Avenue and Prince Philip Drive to facilitate construction works associated with the University Avenue Storm Sewer Upgrades project.
Traffic slowdowns and delays will be experienced, and motorists are advised to seek an alternate route if possible. Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site.
