Please be advised that, due to the weather forecast, the Market on Water event scheduled for Thursday, August 29 at the Downtown Pedestrian Mall (DPM) has been cancelled.
However, there are still several exciting events lined up as we conclude the final DPM weekend of the year:

The City of St. John’s will be hosting a Municipal Open House on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents will have the opportunity to visit various municipal buildings and get the inside scoop on how our city operates. This is a free family friendly event open to all ages.

Overnight work on the Columbus Drive (Kenmount Road overpass) will take place from 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29 to 7:00 a.m. Friday, August 30. This is required to facilitate the installation of pipe across Columbus Drive. Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site.

The City of St. John’s reminds students, parents, and staff of St. Andrews Elementary, Prince of Wales Collegiate, and Memorial University of ongoing construction in the area, which will impact traffic as schools reopen in early September.

The City has installed a new traffic signal at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Newtown Road, near the MUN Administration Building. This signal is part of our ongoing efforts to improve road safety and manage traffic flow more effectively.

Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas Cruise Ship, originally scheduled to arrive in St. John's on Saturday, August 31, has changed their arrival date to Thursday, August 29.
Serenade of the Seas with 2500 passengers is now scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, and depart at 5 p.m.
