Please be advised of a change in location of a road closure impacting Elizabeth Avenue. Elizabeth Ave from Paton Street to Whiteway Street has reopened to traffic, while the road remains closed from Paton Street to Freshwater Road. A detour will be in place, redirecting traffic through Howlett Avenue and Anderson Avenue. Flag persons will be on site to direct traffic. This detour is expected to remain until November 2024.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction period....

With schools reopening the first week of September, the City of St. John’s urges everyone to stay safe in school zones.
For drivers, it's essential to adhere to reduced speed limits, pay attention to all posted signs, exercise extra caution, and never pass school buses when their lights are flashing. Stay alert for crossing guards and children, especially near crosswalks. These measures are in place to protect children as they arrive and leave school zones.
