Planned Power Outage Dec.5 Due to Tree Removal Work

Due to tree removal work, a planned power outage will occur on Thursday, December 5, 2024. The power will be temporarily disrupted for up to four hours at some point between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The following addresses will be affected:

• 8 units at 120 Craigmillar Avenue
• 7 Ryan Street
• 12-42 Cornwall Crescent (even numbers)
• 7-41 Cornwall Crescent (odd numbers)
• 76-82 Cornwall Crescent (even numbers)

This Sunday, thousands of people will descend upon the downtown area for two exciting events. New Collective Agreement Reached with International Association of Firefighters Local 1075

The City of St. John’s/St. John’s Regional Fire Department and the International Association of Firefighters Local 1075 are pleased to announce that they have reached a new collective agreement, marking the successful conclusion of negotiations between both parties.

Roadside Pruning Operations Begin December 2

The City of St. John's will be conducting roadside pruning operations beginning December 2 and continuing until May 31, 2025 in the following areas:

• Larkhall Street and Groves Road area
• Newfoundland Drive west
• Virginia Lake

Pruning operations will be performed following arboricultural best practices. The purpose is to prune branches that create sightline issues or interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Motorists may experience traffic delays when work is being completed.
