Update - Traffic Advisory - Road Closure Heavy Tree Road

Motorists are advised that Heavy Tree Road will remain closed until January 10, 2025 to facilitate the construction of the Team Gushue Highway between Brookfield Road and Commonwealth Avenue. Local access and Emergency vehicle access for Heavy Tree Road will be off Commonwealth Avenue.

To facilitate the New Year's Eve Celebrations on George Street a portion of Duckworth Street will be closed as follows from 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31 to 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 1.

Tuesday, December 31, 2024 - 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
To facilitate the City of St. John's New Year's Eve fireworks display at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31st the following streets will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted:
- Carnell Drive (3:00 p.m.to 8:30 p.m.)
- Lake Avenue
- Clancey Drive
- Lakeview Avenue
- Legion Road
- East White Hills Road
- The Boulevard (from Legion Road to East White Hills Road (7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)

The Loop is Open for the Season

The Loop at Bannerman Park will open at noon today, Tuesday, December 24, and remains open for the 2024-25 season daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. when conditions are favourable.
The Loop is closed for maintenance daily as follows:
- Tuesday to Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.
- Friday to Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Skating is not permitted while ice maintenance is taking place.
