Street Rehab - December 11 to 16

Contractors may be working on the following streets from December 11 to 16 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

The Goulds Lions Club Christmas Parade is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Lakeview Drive
Main Road (Lakeview Drive to Bidgood’s Plaza)
Access from side roads to Main Road will be restricted during the parade.

Updated - Springdale Street (between Water Street and George Street West)

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, from Water Street to George Street West, will be closed from December 11 to 15 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.

The following appeal under the City of St. John’s Development Regulations will be heard by the Local Board of Appeal on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 12 p.m.
Decision of the City regarding Approval of Development at 83 Bay Bulls Road
Any persons whose properties are affected by the above-noted appeal has the right to be heard and to give evidence thereon.

What We Heard Documents Released for Four Projects

The City of St. John’s has released What We Heard reports for four public engagement processes which took place between May to November 2023: Age-Friendly City, Cowan Park Tennis to Pickleball Court Conversion, Disc Golf Proposal for McNiven Place in Airport Heights and the Downtown Neighbourhood Plan.
