The Norwegian Star with 3000 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, and depart at 7 p.m.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from July 8 to 13 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

Please be advised that the swimming pool at Bowring Park will be closed for maintenance for the remainder of the day on Friday, July 5. The pool will reopen on Saturday, July 6 following it’s regular schedule.

Please be advised that a film crew will be working on Water Street from Adelaide Street to Ayres Cove on Monday, July 8 starting at 7 a.m. The area will be closed for business deliveries that morning, however pedestrian access will be maintained and the Downtown Pedestrian Mall will remain open throughout the day. Pedestrians may be asked to avoid certain areas of the street throughout the day.

Residents are advised that construction is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, July 9 to rehabilitate Syme’s Bridge. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2024.
During construction, the bridge will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. There will be local access to Syme’s Bridge Road only. T’railway access will be maintained. Signage will be in place and flagpersons will be on site to direct traffic.
