The Loop at Bannerman Park opens today, Thursday, Dec. 15, and remains open for the 2022-23 season daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. when conditions are favourable.
The Loop is closed for maintenance daily from 1 to 2 p.m. and Friday to Monday from 4 to 5 p.m.
Call the Loop Line at 733-LOOP (5667) to check if it’s open. The Loop Line is updated for closures resulting from poor conditions. Learn all details onThe Loop webpage.

Today, the City of St. John’s released the details of Budget 2023 which includes measures to address inflationary pressures without increasing property taxes.
The 2023 Budget for the City of St. John’s is balanced at $333,282,356, an increase of 4.3% over 2022.
Mill rates for residential and commercial property owners stay the same in 2023 as in 2022: 8.3 mills for residential and 26.9 mills for commercial. Water tax, however, will increase by $45 and commercial water usage rates will rise 7.1%....

The City has completed rolling out pay stations and the PayByPhone parking application to the downtown core, and other areas in the City such as Churchill Square; Westerland Road, Ricketts Road; Freshwater Road; Harvey Road; Cookstown Road; and Long’s Hill.
The paid parking program helps to ensure turnover for businesses and services in these areas and is part of a sustainable and effective on-street parking program.

Due to required maintenance, the washrooms located at Bannerman Park will be closed effective 12 p.m. Thursday, Dec 8, 2022.
These facilities will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec 10.
