Notice to Motorists - Regatta Eve & Regatta Day

Road closures and detours are in effect this week, due to the Regatta.
These changes will be in effect starting on the eve of Regatta, Tuesday August 1, 2023 through to the end of Regatta Day, Wednesday August 2, 2023 (or whichever days Regatta Eve and Regatta Day fall on).

The Royal St. John’s Regatta is set to occur on Wednesday, August 2. If the weather is not suitable on August 2 and the Regatta Committee postpones the event, the following list pertains to whichever day the Royal St. John’s Regatta occurs.
All City offices and facilities are closed on Regatta Day.
Please note:
- Garbage and recycling collection will occur as normal and is not affected by the holiday.
- Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is open for commercial and residential users.

Street Rehab - July 31 to August 5

Contractors may be working on the following streets from July 31 to August 5 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Closure - Springdale Street (between Water Street and George Street West)

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed from July 31 to August 4 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.
