The Zaandam with 1838 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 6:30 a.m. on Friday August 18 and depart at 5 p.m. The Seabourn Quest with 462 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 8 a.m. on Friday August 18 and depart at 6 p.m.

The City has received an application from 91619 NL Corp. to rezone land at 369 Blackmarsh Road from the Residential 2 (R2) Zone to the Residential 3 (R3) Zone to accommodate two (2) Semi-detached Dwellings. Semi-detached Dwelling is a Permitted Use in the R3 Zone. A Municipal Plan amendment is not required.

Lane Reduction - Water Street (in the vicinity of the National War Memorial)

Motorists are advised that Water Street (in the vicinity of the National War Memorial) will be reduced to one lane to facilitate the sewer replacement work adjacent to the National War Memorial. Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site. Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route, if possible.

The Provincial Government provided an update today regarding the refurbishment of the National War Memorial.
In July 2022, the Provincial Government announced it would partner with the Royal Canadian Legion – NL Command, Veterans Affairs Canada and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission on the refurbishment of the National War Memorial, including the repatriation of the remains of an unknown soldier from northern France.
