Street Rehab - October 27 to November 2

Contractors may be working on the following streets from October 27 to November 2 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

Columbus Drive/Thorburn Road (from Columbus Drive to Freshwater Road)

Effective Monday, October 28

On Monday, October 28, a new traffic signal at King's Bridge Road will operate in yellow flash mode, requiring drivers and other road users to yield to pedestrians crossing the street.

On Tuesday, October 29, the signal will become fully operational, displaying red, yellow, and green lights.

Traffic Advisory - Road Closure Heavy Tree Road - October 24 to December 20

Motorists are advised that Heavy Tree Road will be closed for approximately 2 months to facilitate the construction of the Team Gushue Highway between Brookfield Road and Commonwealth Avenue. Local access and Emergency vehicle access for Heavy Tree Road will be off Commonwealth Avenue.

The City has received an application from KMK Capital Inc. to rezone land at 34 New Cove Road from the Institutional (INST) Zone to the Apartment 3 (A3) Zone for a ten-storey Apartment Building, with a total of one hundred and seven (107) units.
