Take notice that the St. John’s Municipal Council has enacted the new St. John’s Councillor Code of Conduct By-Law.
The said By-Law was passed by Council on the twentieth day of February, A.D., 2023, as per the requirements of the Municipal Conduct Act, SNL 2021 c. M-20.01.

City Council recently approved a major step forward in the Corporate Climate plan that will see infrastructure upgrades to 17 city-owned buildings. By improving energy efficiency and transitioning from oil to electricity the City will save $517,914 in energy costs annually.

Today, Joanne Thompson, Member of Parliament for St. John’s East, on behalf of the Honourable Marco Mendicino, Minister of Public Safety, announced that St. John’s will receive up to $1,828,979.23 from the Building Safer Communities Fund to prevent gun crime and gang violence in the city. The City of St. John's grants and subsidies program makes available financial and other resources to nonprofit groups, organizations and individuals whose programming supports the City’s strategic directions.
For 2023, community grants total $1,233,075 and capital grants total $ 482,000 plus $51,086.77 in waived permit fees.
