The City of St. John’s annual winter festival, ChillFest, will take place from February 9 to 14.
ChillFest is a community-wide celebration of winter, with a variety of activities for all ages and abilities. All events are free, however registration may be required.
This year’s events include skating parties at The Loop, snowshoeing and skiing at Pippy Park, free swims, a Kitchen Party, Trivia Night at Cojones, Freez'n Fun Run at Bowring Park and a MegaPlay event for families and children.

Due to the forecasted weather, City facilities will be closing at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 29. This includes City Hall and all recreation facilities. Waste collection will continue and the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will remain open and in operation.

The 24-Hour Parking Ban will be in effect outside the Designated Downtown Area and Business District starting 7:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29, 2024.
On-street parking is prohibited 24-hours a day until the ban is lifted. Vehicles parked on the road during this time may be ticketed or towed.
An update will be issued to confirm when the parking ban will be lifted.

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, from Water Street to George Street West, will be closed on Friday, January 26 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.
