Call for Members: St. John's Transportation Commission

The St. John’s Transportation Commission is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of St. John’s responsible for the operation of Metrobus.
 
The City is calling for expressions of interest from individuals in the private sector who have an interest in sitting on the Commission. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in finance, governance, accessibility/inclusion, marketing, human resources, and/or other business-related disciplines, and have experience on other boards/commissions....

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Playground Closed

The Canadian Tire Jumpstart Playground at Mundy Pond Park will close on September 26, 2022 for the season and for the safety of the public during ongoing construction.  The playground will reopen in the spring of 2023.

Cruise Ships Ambience and Amera Arrive Sept. 23

The Ambience with 798 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s on September 23 at 7 a.m. and is schedule to depart on September 25.

The Amera with 913 passengers is scheduled to arrive September 23 at 8 a.m. and is also scheduled to depart September 25.

It’s hurricane season and the City of St. John’s is asking everyone to do their part to be prepared for extreme weather events.

Road Closure: Blackler Avenue

Due to a watermain break, Blackler Ave. (Blackmarsh Rd. to Anthony Ave.) is closed Thursday, Sept. 22 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. 

Use an alternate route and expect delays.

Emergency vehicles and local traffic, including those visiting family, friends, businesses in the area will have access, while all through traffic will be detoured.
