The St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) wishes to advise all citizens that the fire advisory, dated July 19, 2022, within the Region which includes the City of St. John’s, City of Mount Pearl, and Town of Paradise will be lifted effective midnight, August 16, 2022. Open fires will be permitted, however, please check with your local municipality to confirm if a burning permit is required from this Department.

The City of St. John's website will be intermittently unavailable August 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This interruption affects the Website, Tenders (bids.stjohns.ca), Mapcentre and Automatic Vehicle Lookup (AVL).
City online services unaffected by this interruption include EngageStjohns.ca and CurbItStJohns.ca and social media feeds @CityofStJohns on Twitter and Facebook.

Music @ The Courthouse concert for Saturday, August 13 has unfortunately been postponed due to the wet weather forecast.
Weather-permitting, the concert will go ahead Sunday, August 14, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from August 15 to 19 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

There will be a lane reduction on Kenmount Road from 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15 to 6 p.m. Friday, August 19. This is to facilitate work on the Kenmount Road trunk storm sewer upgrading project. This involves some carry-over repair work. Traffic will be maintained; signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site. Motorists may encounter some delays.
