Carts are currently being delivered to households in the phase one area of automated garbage collection. One cart is provided to every household, including apartments, free of charge to the resident.

Due to the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 21 all City offices and facilities will be closed. Garbage/recycling collection moved to the next day after regular pickup for all areas.
Polina Road and Kenmount Road intersection sign
Construction work to realign Polina Road intersection with the Avalon Mall is expected to begin in June and be completed in the fall. The City is also upgrading the Kenmount Road trunk storm sewer.
The released the Citizen Satisfaction Survey results on Monday. The Mayor is hosting a series of town halls to further explore the results and begin developing a strategic plan and budget for 2019-21.
In March 2018, the City of St. John’s contracted MQO Research to conduct the City’s first ever Citizen Satisfaction Survey and the results were shared by Council today.
