Engagement Session - First World War Legacy Project

Wed, 2015/04/01 - 7:00pm

All across the country, cities and organizations are commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War. Did you know that the City of St. John’s was the main staging and training area for our province’s troops and many historic events occurred here as part of the war effort?
Our Council has a plan to commemorate the First World War and it includes a Legacy Project, but what will that legacy be?
On Wednesday, April 1 the City is holding and an interactive engagement session to generate ideas and help develop concepts that could be considered. We especially want to hear from anyone with an interest in and knowledge of this area, and anyone with ties to those who served or played a role on the home front.
The session is on Wednesday, April 1st from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Foran/Greene Room on the fourth floor of City Hall. Parking is available in the City Hall Parking Garage
If you can’t attend the entire session you are welcome to stop by and post an idea on the Commemoration Idea Board. You can also email your questions, comments and suggestions to engage@stjohns.ca.
