The City of St. John’s, with support from Tree Canada, is celebrating the 12-year anniversary of National Tree Day on Sept. 21.

On Wednesday, Sept. 21, the City along with students from Larkall Academy, Tree Canada, the Bowring Park Foundation, Clean St. John’s, Newfoundland Power, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will celebrate National Tree Day with a tree planting ceremony and BBQ at the Kenmount Terrace Community Centre. The event begins at 11 a.m. and all are welcome to attend. It will go ahead rain or shine.

National Tree Day is an opportunity for Canadians to appreciate the great benefits that trees provide us - clean air, wildlife habitat, reduced energy demands and opportunities to connect with nature.
