Compost Information Sessions

standard backyard compost bins at the MUN Botanical Garden

It's the time of year when you start thinking about putting your garden to bed for the winter, and much of your garden waste can be composted and will help your garden in the long run. If you're interested in learning how to properly compost, learn from the best - the experts at the MUN Botanical Garden!

The City of St. John's has partnered with the MUN Botanical Garden and the Multi Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) to offer free information sessions and low cost backyard compost bins to residents of the city.

We have two sessions remaining for 2016 and the standard bins are available for purchase after the session for $40 + HST. Due to demand we are all sold out of the tumbler bins.

These sessions take place at the Garden, 306 Mount Scio Road, are free and do not require registration. Bins are available for purchase after the session but we accept cash only.

  1. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2 to 3 p.m.
  2. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 10 to 11 a.m.

If you can't make either of these sessions you can learn more about how to properly backyard compost on the MMSB and Botanical Garden websites.
