Celebrate St.John's Days with Free Events

The City of St. John’s invites residents to celebrate St. John’s Days from Friday, June 24 to Monday, June 27 with free events taking place for all ages and interests.

The festivities begin with a special pre-screening of 'Trail of the Caribou' a CBC documentary marking the 100th anniversary of the First World War. The screening takes place 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Scotiabank Theatre in the Avalon Mall. Tickets are free and must be booked in advance, see the City's website for more info.

We continue St. John’s Day Celebrations on Signal Hill at noon on Friday with a ceremonial firing of the Signal Hill cannon.

On Saturday and Sunday, Metrobus St. John’s Trolley resumes service for the season with free rides and stops throughout the downtown area.

From 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday take part in Family Fun Day at Bannerman Park featuring performances by Wonderbolt Circus, an interactive drum circle and a decorated bicycle parade for kids.

At 2 p.m on Sunday we’re hosting a special birthday edition of Music at Harbourside Park featuring talented young performers.

On Monday at dusk come to our final pre-screening of 'Trail of the Caribou' at Solomon's Lane, downtown. This special edition of Reel Downtown is presented in partnership by the City of St. John's and Downtown St. John's.
