The westbound exit ramp from Pitts Memorial Drive to Southlands Boulevard will be closed from Thursday, Oct. 27 to Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 (previously November 4). Northbound traffic on Southlands Boulevard will not be able to exit onto Pitts Memorial Drive westbound. Southbound traffic can still exit onto Pitts Memorial Drive westbound during this ramp closure. Motorists can use the Ruth Avenue exit or the Route 3 – Commonwealth Interchange via Heavy Tree Road exit as an alternative.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from October 24 to 28 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

The City is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from Tree Canada and CN Rail for tree planting in city parks and open spaces, as part of the EcoConnexions – From the Ground Up Program.
The grant was celebrated today with a tree planting ceremony in Bowring Park. Trees planted under this grant are in addition to the 400 to 500 trees that are planted by the city each year.

November 20 is National Child Day in Canada, a day to celebrate the rights of children everywhere to live happy, healthy lives, and to ensure they reach their full potential.
