Signal Light Fixtures

The City of St. John's has two types of hangers for light fixtures:

  • rigid mount, type most commonly used
  • swivel mount
Rigid mount has a spring cushion that allows for some movement.
Swivel mount provides 90 degrees movement in either direction.
Rigid mount is most commonly used throughout St. John's.
Fixtures are not hung by chains; they are a safety precaution should the mount break.
Some signal lights use wires, rather than chains, as the safety precaution.
